Downtown San Antonio 'Up' house picks up attention thanks to viral TikTok video
A viral TikTok video has brought some attention to a downtown San Antonio law office that resembles the house from the 2009 Pixar movie "Up."
George Scharmen, the DWI lawyer who's business occupies the office on 315 Dwyer Avenue in downtown, told mySA.com in January that he decorated the exterior of his business with character cutouts from the beloved movie because he said he relates to Carl Fredricksen, the disgruntled, lovable elderly character in the film.
In the animated film, Carl stubbornly refuses to move or sell his 36棋牌 as skyscrapers and modern buildings transform the neighborhood around him. Like Carl, Scharmen's modest downtown law office is dwarfed by new apartment buildings to the left and behind, and a parking garage to the right.
Last week, TikTok user uploaded a 10-second clip of the house on the video-sharing app, catching the hearts of many. The short video also featured the iconic song from the movie's soundtrack. The video has more than 126,000 likes and nearly 7,000 shares as of Monday afternoon.
"Why did this video make me cry," one TikTok user commented.
"but like why do i have tears in my eyes," another wrote.
The TikTok video has also received attention on Facebook after shared the clip on her account last Friday. Her post had more than 703 shares and around 200 comments as of Monday afternoon.
Scharmen, a DWI lawyer, has occupied the designated historic landmark building since 2008.
